This was the situation that had us gripped with anticipation.

The television personality throwing his traitor companions under a bus in a brazen attempt to save himself.

However, his strategy backfired - and spectacularly so.

His fellow conspirators, the musician and Alan Carr, quickly detected his deceptive strategy.

And at a dramatic round table, they each mercilessly targeted him, eliminating him.

Cat additionally spelled Jonathan's name wrong - that's got to make the betrayal even worse.

Finally, the Big Dog was gone.

The deceptive alliance has been broken up.

Receiving majority support, it was Ross's time to leave the show.

And exit he certainly did, with what's being billed online as the most iconic farewell address in Traitors history.

The Unforgettable Exit Speech

"I've got no idea where everyone is going wrong.

I cannot believe you've made the same mistake," the media figure announced.

"I'm amazed that I'm standing here unfairly, though I hate to say it, you've got this completely wrong," he continued.

"Currently, I am, and throughout I've been all through the game completely Faithful..." he declared, eliciting looks of despair from the other players, prior to finishing his speech: "...to the traitors."

"That represented the most outrageous bow out," said a visibly shaken the rugby player.

Aftermath and Feedback

After these events, the contestants burst into cheers.

Finally - the loyal players have finally caught one of the deceivers.

And not simply any dishonest player.

The forest-green attired, shades-adoring, Jonathan Ross has been eliminated.

According to media analyst the television critic, this demonstrated additional proof of just how "ruthless" the deceptive contestants have proven to be.

"The dishonest coalition disintegrated!

Such an intense installment," she observed.

Post-Elimination

Yet while talking with production afterwards, the eliminated contestant proved sportsmanlike in accepting elimination.

"I'm actually relieved and I'm pleased Alan voted against me too," he confessed.

"I'm optimistic they will stick together and cruise to success."

During the companion podcast, the host elaborated that the perfect approach for dishonest players was "avoid drawing attention, don't be too quiet.

Which is precisely why Alan and Cat are demonstrating such an excellent strategy."

Prior Occurrences

Previously in the episode, another faithful was murdered.

During this round, the target was Lucy Beaumont's moment, after ending up the last episode with the unsuccessful group.

The comedian was taken out spectacularly, through direct confrontation, returning to the oversized chess set.

She looked truly surprised upon discovering the identities of the dishonest contestants.

"I'm displeased about your actions in the slightest," she tells the traitors.

"You played this incredibly effectively."

Similar to other contestants, her immediate response upon discovering the comedian was involved as a traitor emerged as, "Alan Killed Paloma!!!"

Additional Drama

"Confrontational removal proved extremely brutal, and deeply personal," commented the comedian.

"I resemble the angel of death."

Kate Garraway, who was also with the unsuccessful group, was spared from removal.

But she was dissatisfied regarding the reception from other contestants as she arrived at the daily gathering the next day.

"No one is happy that I'm still here," commented the TV presenter.

"Why does no one trust me?"

The sports figure immediately clarified that her problem is, she fails to present with a lot of theories, something the presenter didn't dispute.

"I'm totally incompetent, I can't bear it," she said.

Task Tension

In other segments, attention shifted to the host's performance once more, while the television personality navigated an unstable crossing above water through the current competition, shrieking as he did so.

"You're performing exceptionally," the media figure commented, trying to motivate him, to which he replied: "Shut up."

"I felt I was participating in school games with children.

Like a loving, pushy parent, I was putting him off," the presenter observed during confessionals.

But Carr triumphed, and upon completion, he stated the legendary statement: "Oh my sensitive areas.

I feel like successful but altered."
