Enormous Hype But a Considerable Gamble: The New Battlefield Challenges Its Rival Series

In the extremely competitive world of video games, it's usual for fresh competitors to fade away as swiftly as they explode onto the stage.
But Battlefield 6 is aiming to change that.
This is the newest release in a long-running combat FPS series often described as a more realistic response to the CoD series.
The title has never quite succeeded to equal its top opponent in regards of sales or user base, but evidence points to the latest version could close the gap.
A preview event giving users a opportunity to test the game earlier this year broke records, and the hype leading up to its release has been immense.
But the project is nevertheless a significant risk for company its creators, which has according to sources spent huge sums of funds producing it.
Our team has spoken to several the creators to find out how they hope it will pay off.
Development Group and Company Partnership
A total of four studios were developing the game under the collaborative banner.
They include original series producer the original team, located in Scandinavia, Los Angeles-based Motive Studios and Ripple Effect in Canada.
Another, the Guildford team, is based in the UK.
Rebecka Coutaz is the general manager of the two European studios, and tells us that, in terms of what it's offering players, "Battlefield 6 is arguably unmatched."
Building On Previous Shortcomings
This title follows the back of the sci-fi the previous game, published in the past to a unfavorable feedback it found it hard to recover from.
"We most likely couldn't build and design this new game without the insights we had in Battlefield 2042," she shares with our team.
One of those takeaways was to engage the community participating soon, and the studio started closed fan playtests not long ago.
The "feedback was incredibly positive," comments she.
One more absent ingredient from Battlefield 2042 was a story mode, which has been reintroduced for this release.
The Guildford team creative lead the design director is the one tasked with "guaranteeing those stages are as enjoyable and compelling as possible for the gamers."
Regardless of allegations that the scale of the game had put a strain on the various developers partnering across continents to create the title, he is upbeat about the endeavor.
"Working with varied backgrounds, different backgrounds, it's a really interesting setting to be part of daily," he says.
"This entire strategy has been an innovation but also really exciting because we are partnering with team members from around the globe."
Regarding the expectation on the crew, Fas comments: "There is pressure but at the same time it's thrilling.
"We're dealing with a large undertaking. It's arguably the most significant that many of us have before participated in."
Emerging Talent Brings Fresh View
That's definitely true of at least a single team member, visual designer Vlad.
This young professional creates the atmospheric effects that define the tone, feel, and narrative of the story mode.
The artist completed an training period at Criterion preceding obtaining a job with them, and presently operates on a part-time basis while finishing his VFX studies at his school.
He states he's a dedicated supporter of the Battlefield series, and remembers experiencing the fourth instalment of the franchise at a pal's home when he was a child.
To be on it now, as his initial industry job, "doesn't feel real."
"It's very incredible observing the promotion all around," he says.
"Realizing that I have added my personal touch into the project is truly surreal."
