Devoted fans of the pop star are calling for that a man who leaped a barrier and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the performers proceeded down a event pathway surrounded by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to attend court on the following morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram feed features recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Well-being

Several followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another comment on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals demanded online networks to block Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Hundreds of Singapore attendees had waited to greet the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film version of the popular stage show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two very different witches.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, securing several for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
