Fly-tippers cover open land in mountain of rubbish

Fly-tippers have discarded a huge quantity of garbage in a field in Oxfordshire.
The "environmental catastrophe occurring in public view" is approximately 150m (490ft) in length and 6m (20ft) tall.
The enormous mound has materialized in a field next to the River Cherwell near Kidlington.
Parliament representative raised the problem in parliament, saying it was "threatening an environmental disaster".
An environmental charity said the illegal garbage pile was created around a recently by an organised crime group.
"This is an environmental crisis developing in full view.
"Every day that goes by raises the danger of toxic drainage reaching the aquatic network, polluting fauna and putting at risk the wellbeing of the whole catchment.
"Environmental authorities must take action now, not in months or years, which is their typical response period."
A restriction order had been established by the Environment Agency.
It is hard to distinguish any individual items of waste as it appears to have been shredded with soil blended.
Part of the waste from the uppermost part of the pile has toppled and is now just five feet from the stream.
The River Cherwell is a tributary of the River Thames, which means it runs through Oxford before meeting the Thames.

The representative petitioned the authorities for support to eliminate the unauthorized dump before it resulted in a inferno or was carried into the water network.
Informing MPs on Thursday, he stated: "Lawbreakers have deposited a mountain of unlawful plastic waste... totaling many tons, in my constituency on a floodplain adjacent to the River Cherwell.
"Stream volumes are increasing and thermal imaging show that the waste is also heating up, raising the risk of blaze.
"Regulatory body stated it has limited capabilities for regulation, that the projected cost of removal is larger than the entire annual allocation of the local district council."
Environment minister stated the administration had inherited a underperforming waste industry that had caused an "widespread problem of illegal dumping".
She told MPs the authority had implemented a access ban to halt more admission to the area.
In a statement, the agency confirmed it was investigating the incident and requested for details.
It said: "We understand the public's frustration about occurrences like this, which is why we respond against those responsible for environmental offenses."
A newly released investigation found attempts to combat major environmental offenses have been "critically under-prioritised" notwithstanding the problem developing into larger and more complex.
