Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Gunned Down in the City of Johannesburg.

A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country grappling with persistent crime.

Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on the afternoon of Tuesday.

Authorities reported the 40-year-old presenter was confronted by three suspects, with one opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.

The purpose behind the attack has not been established and no one has been arrested have taken place, police said.

Law enforcement revealed that Stock was targeted as he was leaving a location near the city center landmark.

He had devoted time at the property overseeing the implementation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unknown people, as per local media.

"It is alleged the deceased was confronted by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," an official report confirmed.

Surveillance tape reportedly depicted a man with dreadlocked hair and wearing what resembled a protective services outfit opening fire on Stock before running away.

The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but collapsed across the street.

It was further revealed that Stock had an gun that was not fired and it was not a robbery during the attack.
