The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu wraps up her season and will keep coach through next year.
Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slam events this year.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 due to the illness she has been battling over the past 10 days.
At 22 years old was due to play in events in Asia but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate prior to beginning next year's training.
Those preparations will include her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.
She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.
She needed once more a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.
She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.
Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after a long gap since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.
Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.
She secured 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.
Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.
She worked with Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.
The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.
Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
