The United Kingdom is set to progress with using the full worth of immobilized Russia's funds to aid Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

UK sanctions have frozen more than £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, money sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had solely been taken from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward using the complete amount of the seized Russia's state holdings to conclude the conflict.

He added that more restrictions soon would heighten the tension on Russia.

This statement is subsequent to European leaders met in the Danish capital last week to discuss employing immobilized Russian assets for a €140 billion financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on international partners to seize or employ frozen Russian holdings, according to media sources.

The worth of seized Russian assets in the European Union is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

President Zelensky encourages Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to join the Purl programme

Moscow launched large-scale missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on Friday, leading to blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Two people were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the strike, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a post on an online platform following the incident, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike focused on public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not just talk but firm measures - from the America, EU, and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and enforcing penalties," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed the press he would press Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement program, under which Nato countries purchase weapons from the US to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the United Kingdom's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he said it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce more measures on Moscow.
